Three best friends formed what they perceived as the "new" sound of Hip Hop/Rock. Little did these New Pioneers of Old School Hip Hop realize that their music would reach so many people. By combining different styles from East and West Coast Rap Stars, while mixing backgrounds from Pop, Rock, and R&B, THE WANTED created a sound that was very unique and different for the times. Some would even say ahead of the times for its day. THE WANTED would perform for whoever would listen and entered every contest they could find. This persistence earned them the Title of Missouri State Rap Champions. They held this Title for two years through many competitions and battles. THE WANTED had a successful release of a song called KrackerJack on their own label, CMT Records. The song received some marginal radio play in and around the St. Louis area, and gave the band some local noteriety.
Over the course of time, THE WANTED have refined their art, changing with the times, performing in the Hip-Hop Underground scene in and around St. Louis. There were setbacks, challenges, and triumphs through this time period, but THE WANTED stayed true to the game and never gave up.
THE WANTED signed with Chained Duck Records, and produced an album with 12 songs. This album is the last release of THE WANTED to date. Although, they did not receive National recognition for their efforts, they feel as if they have made a mark in the history pages of Hip Hop/ |
