'Hideki's just like every other guy in the 22nd century. He just wants a good job, a good car, and a sexy robot girlfriend to call his own. Until he lands a job, he'll never be able to afford his own 'Persocom' companion. Hideki's luck changes when he discovers Chi - an adorable but seemingly stupid Persocom - tied up in a pile of trash. His first robot companion turns out to be a lot more responsibility than he expected, and she gets him into quite a few embarrassing situations. It's 'boy-meets-girl' for the cyber age.

Chi
 Hideki finds this adorable 'persocom,' or humanoid computer, tied up in a pile of trash, so he takes her home to fix her up. She acts like a child, learning through imitation, but as Hideki searches for the truth behind her past, he finds that she might be much more sophisticated than her childlike behavior lets on. Could she be a 'Chobit,' one of the Artificial Intelligences whose existence is rumored on the internet?

Dark Chi
When Chi closes her eyes, this alter-ego speaks to her. The Dark Chi seems to know a lot more about Chi's past than Chi herself.  '
